Slumdog Millionaire - Musings on Latika's theme

I've been hooked on the Slumdog Millionaire Soundtrack for the last few weeks. What I love, despite having listened to a track on repeat many many times, is that sometimes you notice something that you'd never noticed before. This is Latika's Theme by A.R Rahman from the Slumdog Millionaire soundtrack:

For the first time today, I noticed the rhythm in the background of the song, and it was the rhythm of a train. This was a really beautiful way musically for Rahman to bookend the relationship between Jamal and Latika's – it was by a train where they were first separated, and it was by a train again when they were finally reunited.

Like life, the train stops for no one. We just have to make sure we don't miss it.
